Ceftiofur Sterile Powder contains the sodium salt of Ceftiofur which is a broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including β-lactamase-producing strains. Like other Cephalosporins, Ceftiofur is bactericidal in vitro, resulting from inhibition of cell wall synthesis.

As with all drugs, the use of Ceftio – 4   Injection is contraindicated in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to the drug. In the event of a hypersensitivity reaction following the administration of this drug, immediate appropriate therapy should be instituted.

Description –

Amoxicillin trihydrate is a broad-spectrum semi synthetic antibiotic and that its resistance to gastric acid permits higher serum levels with oral administration.

Sulbactam Sodium is a beta-lactamase inhibitor with very weak antibacterial action. The compound prevents antibiotic destruction of beta-lactam antibiotics by inhibiting beta-lactamases, thus extending their spectrum activity.
Lactic Acid Bacillus- A nonspecific term for lactobacilli, which are gram-positive; aerobic and facultatively anaerobic; have terminal spores; and produce lactic acid from fermentable sugars.

 Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic having broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This is used to treat serious infections, particularly those caused by susceptible strains of Enterobacteriaceae. Sulbactam is a β-lactamase inhibitor. It works by interfering with the formation of the bacteria’s cell wall so that the wall ruptures, resulting in the death of the bacteria. Ceftriaxone for injection USP is a sterile, semisynthetic, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic for intravenous or intramuscular administration. 

Tazobactam is a penicillinate sulphone, structurally related to sulbactam. Being a beta- lactamase inhibitor, it is synergistic with many beta-lactamase-labile drugs such as penicillins and cephalosporins.

Tazobactam inhibits all beta-lactamases inhibited by clavulanic acid, but, in addition, it also has some activity against chromosomally-mediated induced (or derepressed) enzymes of Morganella morganii, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter cloacae, Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Tazobactam also appears to be a weaker enzyme inducer than other beta-lactamase inhibitors.
